The Center for Advanced Materials and Smart Manufacturing (CAMSM), Faculty of Computing and Technology, in collaboration with the Section E2 of Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) organized a workshop on advanced analytical instruments on Saturday, the 27th of September from 8.00 am to 2.30 pm at the Laboratory Building Complex, Faculty of Computing and Technology, UOK. It covered the theory, instrumental details and data interpretation on ICP-OES, HPLC and XRD techniques, together with some demonstrations on plasma generation techniques. Dr. Pradeep Samarasekere, Dr. Damayanthi Dahanayake (Faculty of Science, NSBM Green University) and Dr. Induni Siriwardane served as the resource persons of the workshop, whereas Ms. Shamalie Swarnalatha, Mr. Anushka Chandrasena and Mr. Avantha Prasad participated in demonstrating the instruments. The workshop was successfully concluded with appreciating comments received from 37 participants from both academic and industrial backgrounds.
