International Mini Hackathon 2025

The Faculty of Computing and Technology, University of Kelaniya is proud to announce a spectacular display of technical prowess by its third year undergraduates of BSc. (Hons) in Computer Science degree program at the recently concluded MINI HACKATHON 2025 Inter-University Machine Learning Hackathon.
Organized in parallel with the prestigious International Conference on Data Science (ICDS) by the University of Colombo and Octave (John Keels Holdings), this event served as a battleground for the brightest young minds in Machine Learning and Data Science.
The scale of the competition was immense, featuring participation from over 50 universities across Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The rigorous selection process whittled down the massive pool of entrants to the Top 15 teams for the first round.
As the competition intensified, only the Top 5 teams advanced to the grand finale. In a remarkable show of consistency and skill, two teams from the University of Kelaniya secured their spots among these final five elite contenders.
After a competitive final round, UOK teams clinched two of the top three spots. We proudly recognize the students behind this success:
