Research Colloquium for Knowledge Dissemination
The Faculty of Computing and Technology (FCT) successfully conducted its 1st Research Colloquium for Knowledge Dissemination on 19th June 2025 at the Academic Building, Level 1. This landmark event was organized by the Research Centre of FCT (RC-FCT) in collaboration with IICFCT, with the aim of fostering a vibrant research culture within the faculty and creating a platform for academics and researchers to share their innovative work.
The colloquium featured insightful presentations by two distinguished speakers:
Dr. Shakya Bandara - Senior Lecturer
Presented on emerging research directions in computing and technology
Focused on sustainable computing approaches and innovative digital solutions
Shared valuable experiences on research methodologies and academic publishing
Dr. Navodi Hakmanage - Lecturer
Delivered an engaging session on interdisciplinary research trends
Highlighted the importance of innovation in solving real-world societal issues
Encouraged young academics to actively engage in research initiatives
The sessions were followed by an interactive Q&A segment, allowing participants to discuss ideas, clarify research challenges, and network with fellow academics.
The colloquium marks an important step in strengthening the faculty’s commitment to research excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing. It also serves as a foundation for future academic events aimed at supporting young researchers and enhancing the research output of FCT.
