The Faculty of Computing and Technology has established the Tutoring and Support Center (TSC) to equip students with essential skills and enhance their success in degree programs. TSC focuses on identifying and addressing foundational knowledge gaps, particularly in areas like mathematics, statistics, and physics. By deepening students' understanding of course content, TSC fosters transferable skills that contribute to both academic success and lifelong learning. The center provides a collaborative environment where students can work and learn together, supporting each other along the way. Additionally, TSC aids temporary staff in developing teaching skills and offers students the opportunity to become certified undergraduate tutors.

The Tutoring and Support Center (TSC) carries out the following activities to support student's academic growth:

  1. Support students in understanding concepts and problem-solving strategies to enable independent work.
  2. Assist students with practice problems and guided examples from lecture notes to reinforce learning.
  3. Identify specific areas of difficulty and provide additional explanations as needed.
  4. Clarify homework and assignments without providing complete solutions to encourage learning.
  5. Guide students in developing effective study skills and building confidence.
  6. Provide dedicated time for independent work, with assistance available for practice problems.
  7. Support the development of tutors’ teaching skills.
  8. Help students catch up on missed lecture or tutorial content for better comprehension.

These activities aim to foster self-sufficiency, enhance comprehension, and build foundational knowledge and skills across academic areas.
