The inauguration of the Master of Science in Information Technology in Education Degree was held on 29^th January 2021 at 9.00 as an online event with the participation of Prof. Ariyarathna Jayamaha, Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Dr. Gamini Wijayarathna, Dean, Faculty of Computing and Technology, Prof. Prasad Sethunga, Department of Education, University of Peradeniya and staff of the Faculty of Computing and Technology.

The new degree programme is designed to educate students with sound IT knowledge, independent of specific computer platforms or software environments. This Master of Science in Information Technology in Education Degree Programme is expected to help bring Sri Lankan Education to the next era of blended learning and e-learning, utilizing Information Technology to its maximum potential.
