Signing of the project agreement – Science and Technology Human Resource Development Project

The signing of the project agreement of the Science and Technology Human Resources Development Project funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the development of the Faculty of Computing and Technology (FCT), University of Kelaniya took place at the ADB Sri Lanka Resident Mission Office in Colombo on 13th February 2019.
Vice Chancellor Prof. D M Semasinghe signed the agreement on behalf of University of Kelaniya while ADB Country Director in Sri Lanka Ms. Sri Widowati signed on behalf of the ADB.
FCT is expected to receive more than USD 30 Million (LKR 5.36 Billion) under this project to build international standard facilities including modern lecture rooms and laboratories, train the staff and develop globally recognized academic and research programmes in collaboration with international partner universities and the industry.
The proposed building complex which will include 6 buildings that house lecture rooms, laboratories, administrative offices, student centre, auditorium and staff accommodation will be constructed in a 3.25 Acre land next to Mudun Ela at Wedamulla, Kelaniya.
