After three days of intense innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving, we are thrilled to announce the winners of Sri Lanka’s First Inter-University Make-A-Thon for Assistive Medical Technology! organized by the faculty of computing and technology and faculty of medicine at University of Kelaniya

Grand Prize Award – LKR 100,000

This award goes to… Team Bodacious from University of Moratuwa for their groundbreaking assistive technology solution on developing a modified keyboard with embossed letters, an adjustable stand, and back-lighting to help a 10-year-old boy with severe cerebral visual impairment type more easily

First Runner-Up – LKR 75,000

This award goes to… Team Solidifiers from SLTC University for their outstanding innovation and impact on creating a lateral support device that can be attached to any chair, helping a 6-year-old boy with scoliosis sit comfortably anywhere.

People’s Choice Award

This award goes to… Team Med RAMP with the highest number of public votes for designing and fabrication of an assistive device that mimics a human hand, enabling a 55-year-old male with amputated fingers to grip farming tools and tie knots.
 
A huge congratulations to all the winners and participants! Your dedication, passion, and teamwork have made this event truly unforgettable.
 
The innovations created here are just the beginning – we can't wait to see how these ideas evolve into real-world solutions
