The Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Centre of the University of Kelaniya Faculty of Computing and Technology successfully launched a comprehensive workshop series on Blockchain Technology and Building on Cardano, in collaboration with CoinCeylon x Intersect Sri Lanka Hub.
The first session of this four-part, month-long series introduced students to blockchain fundamentals, Cardano’s architecture, and real-world applications, equipping them with essential knowledge to navigate and innovate in the Web3 space. This hands-on, 3-hour workshop series will continue throughout April, covering wallets, UTXO models, smart contracts, and blockchain development alongside on-chain governance providing students with both theoretical insights and practical experience.
The workshop was conducted by the CoinCeylon team, with Kavinda Kariyapperuma, Founder & CEO of Coin Ceylon, alongside CoinCeylon’s CTO, Community Manager, and team members delivering engaging sessions. A special thanks to Dr. Rasika Rajapaksha, Head of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Centre, for his invaluable support in organizing this event and fostering blockchain education at the university.
With many students in attendance, this initiative marks a significant step in advancing blockchain literacy and adoption among Sri Lankan students, creating opportunities for deeper learning and blockchain industry engagement and the Cardano ecosystem.
